I am currently the subject area leader for secondary mathematics teacher preparation at Michigan State.

I am also currently the associate editor of the NCTM journal Mathematics Teacher Educator  with editor Sandra Crespo

As of June 2014, I was appointed the Associate Director of Mathematics Education for the CREATE for STEM Institute.

My colleague Tonya Bartell and I are co-chaired the 37th annual conference for the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education - North America chapter in November 2015

I served as the electronics board member on the AERA Special Interest Group: Research in Mathematics Education Executive Board for 2013-2015, as well as an At-Large member of the steering committee for the North American chapter of the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PMENA) from 2012-2015.

In addition to service for our teacher preparation program and for my scholarly community, I am actively involved in service to schools. I regularly present at the Michigan Council for Teachers of Mathematics conference. In 2012, I worked with a local mathematics department at Holt High School to obtain an NEA Foundation Grant to conduct cross-grade level lesson study to develop their practice to engage students in the Common Core Standard for Mathematical Practice on problem solving.

Highlights from additional service to Michigan State University and the Department of Teacher Education can be found on my CV.
