I am a professor of mathematics education at Michigan State University.
I research HOW teachers can be supported in fostering student engagement in mathematical practices, which includes the engagement of secondary students in mathematical argumentation, including justifying and proving.
As a teacher educator, I am particularly interested in understanding what prospective teachers learn through experiences which allow them to approximate authentic teaching practice.
